MoreAthena joined Voices Together as a Board-Certified Music Therapist in June, 2026. They are committed to creating a safe, brave and inclusive space and empowering individuals to advocate for themselves. In addition to taking a person centered, humanistic approach, Athena also emphasizes autonomy and accessibility for all within their practice.
Before joining the team at Voices Together, Athena completed their music therapy internship at Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina. During their internship they provided inpatient and outpatient music therapy services for a wide variety of patients with therapeutic goals including, but not limited to pain management, coping skills, self-expression and autonomy.
Athena is originally from Raleigh, North Carolina and attended Queens University of Charlotte in pursuit of their bachelor’s degree. They graduated in 2025 with their Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Music Therapy from Queens University of Charlotte.
An avid songwriter and lover of Greek mythology, Athena wrote a song combining their two interests in May 2024 that would later go on to be published in their university’s literary magazine.
