Katie is a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) and Raleigh, NC native with over eight years of experience supporting children and young adults with disabilities. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Classical Vocal Performance from the arts conservatory, North Carolina School of the Arts in 2013. After volunteering full-time in AmeriCorps and discovering the field of music therapy, Katie went on to complete her Master's in Music Therapy and a Graduate Certificate in Systemic Multicultural Counseling at Appalachian State University in 2019. Her clinical training includes an internship at Seasons Hospice in Boston, where she worked in palliative and end-of-life care, and extensive advanced training in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM), which she used in mental health work with college students. Katie is also certified in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT), having trained directly under Drs. Michael and Corene Thaut in evidence-based music interventions.

Before returning home to the Triangle, Katie spent seven years in Montreal, where she built and led a bilingual (English/French) music therapy program at a private special needs high school. She brings this rich, cross-cultural clinical background to her work at Voices Together, where she's passionate about helping clients find connection, communication, and growth through music.

Outside of music therapy sessions, Katie loves to read, go for bike rides, and dance kizomba, salsa, and bachata.
