Voices Together

Voices Music Therapy (VMT) is a research-based, curriculum-informed music therapy model that helps individuals build critical life skills. Our proven method empowers clients to gain independence, agency, and fulfillment in their lives. Yasmine White, the founder and CEO of Voices Together, developed VMT. We are proud to deliver a therapy model that has been established as a best practice in the field.

Our VMT-trained music therapists use this specialized method to help students at all levels. They enable participants to improve their communication, social, and emotional skills. Consequently, clients can engage meaningfully with their community and life.

Why Voices Music Therapy Works

Research affirms that students who participate in our sessions significantly improve academically and socially. In fact, they can see a difference in only six to 12 months with just 30 minutes of sessions each week. Our programs empower individuals to increase focused attention, advocate for their needs, and engage appropriately with peers. Additionally, our vocational training program helps young people build essential soft skills. This includes skills such as nonverbal and verbal communication, teamwork, confidence, self-advocacy, and problem-solving. As a result, we help prepare our students for a successful transition to a work setting.

Voices Together’s VMT-trained music therapists use this specialized method to enable students at all levels. We help improve their communication, social, and emotional skills so they can engage meaningfully with their community and life.

VMT works because we:

  • Use original song structures that create natural prompts for speaking and listening therapy. This makes social conversation easy.
  • Employ a specialized curriculum that blends functional living and learning skills with a music therapy model.
  • Offer a group structure that creates a strong sense of community.
  • Utilize non-directive counseling methods. We find this approach to be highly effective.
  • Engage talented, board-certified music therapists who are trained in our proprietary VOICSS® method to deliver this therapy.
  • Partner with leading university researchers to inform and validate our client-centered, evidence-based approach
