Alex joined Voices Together in September 2026 as a Music Therapist. In this role, they will use the Voices Together Model of music therapy to support children of various ages on the Autism spectrum or are otherwise neurodivergent.

Alex was born and raised in North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in both music and anthropology in the winter of 2019. They continued their studies at Appalachian State University where they completed their equivalency and master’s degree in Music Therapy in Spring 2026.

During Alex’s time in Boone at Appalachian State University they were a cashier at High Country Emporium, a graduate research assistant, and a peer mentor at Appalachian State University before moving to Greensboro after graduating. Alex has always wanted to be an active member of the community and looks forward to helping Voices Together support its community members.

FUN FACT:

Alex is a yoga instructor and an avid Dungeons & Dragons player (and dungeon master). They are also working towards becoming a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT).
