Voices Together

Alexandra is a board-certified music therapist who has a passion for utilizing music within the community. She grew up in North Carolina and received her bachelor's degree in music therapy from Appalachian State University.  Afterwards, she moved to Chicago to complete her internship at Lawrence Hall, a not-for-profit community welfare agency, as a residential music therapist. She then worked for an acute behavioral health hospital before transitioning back to where she interned and worked as a community music therapist. Alexandra primarily worked on the south side of Chicago, working within the foster care, older adolescence, and community programming. Additionally, Alexandra served as a supervisor for interns completing their music therapy internship while occasionally supervising practicum students as well.

Alexandra has a huge passion for reaching under-represented areas and making music therapy accessible for all. She is excited to share these passions and experiences with Voices Together while gaining new skills and growing together to help reach individuals throughout the triad region.

Fun fact:

In her free time, she loves to collect random items throughout the week to make junk journal spreads as a way to preserve and remember special moments that occur.
