Voices Together

Ema joined Voices Together in July 2022 as a Program Coordinator. They support the organization's standard and Pre-ETS (Pre-Employment Transition Services) programming. Ema is excited by the work being done in the world of Disability Justice, shifting from a “pathology paradigm” that views neurodivergence as a problem to solve to a “neurodiversity paradigm” that views neurodivergence as a natural and valuable form of human diversity. Ema sees this shift happening through work being done by organizations like Voices Together--organizations that are getting curious, asking questions, and changing the way we support neurodivergent people!

Ema moved to North Carolina from Columbus, Ohio, where they studied Social Work at Columbus State. After graduating, they worked as a case manager at Syntero before deciding to narrow their focus and pursue a career supporting individuals with disabilities. When they are not working, they enjoy film photography, growing vegetables, and slowly learning how to play the cello.

Fun Fact

Ema has a long-haired calico cat named Juno who loves belly rubs and playing fetch!
