Morgan is a lifelong North Carolinian, having grown up in the mountains of the north western part of our state where she developed a love for the outdoors. After a few years of travel, she started her own family in Asheville and then moved to Durham in 2009.

Upon arriving in Durham, Morgan made the happy decision to be a stay-at-home mom, spending the next several years raising her two children, Mickey and Eden, while also volunteering in the community. It was while volunteering at her children's school that she was approached to become a substitute teacher, which was the beginning of Morgan's career in education. 

Since making the transition from substitute teaching to Instructional Assistant, she has had the pleasure of working as an Executive Assistant at the elementary and higher education levels in Durham Public Schools and at NC State University.  Starting in 2018, Morgan managed the office of a local Durham nonprofit that provided group homes for developmentally disabled adults.

When not in the Voices Together office, Morgan enjoys kayaking and hiking with her family and friends as well as traveling near and far. She and her partner, Jeff, also enjoy seeing live music, cooking and spending time with the furry members of their family, which includes two dogs and two cats.
