Suzanne Downing joined the Voices Together team in 2020 as a contract communications consultant.

Before joining the Voices Together team, Suzanne spent more than a decade working in the non-profit sector as a copy editor, photographer, digital media strategist and copywriter while promoting literacy both domestically and internationally.

She has also contracted and volunteered with several other nonprofits to document (and participate in) humanitarian aid projects in places like Honduras, Mexico and Ethiopia. She loves that she’s been able to travel and visit so many diverse places.

Downing graduated from Saint Xavier University in 2006 with a B.A. in Liberal Studies where she also played collegiate volleyball. She continued her education with the American Management Association in Chicago, earning a mini MBA certificate and professional certificates in website optimization and social media marketing.

Years later Suzanne returned to school and graduated from the University of Montana in 2019 with an M.F.A. in Environmental Science Journalism.

In her spare time, Suzanne enjoys hiking, running, kayaking and photographing the breathtaking landscapes of Montana with her husband and dog, Gunner.

Fun Fact

Suzanne is the author of “Sunny” a children’s book about letting your light shine and inspiring others to do the same. She also loves astronaut’s ice cream, has a grown daughter and spoils her two grandsons, Greyson and Sawyer, every chance she gets.
