Sylvia is a music therapy intern originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She recently attended Utah State University for her bachelor’s degree in music therapy with a minor in psychology. While at USU, she worked with a large range of populations, from early elementary schoolers with developmental disabilities to older adults in hospice care. She also has extensive experience as a music teacher and has taught hundreds of private lessons in violin, piano, guitar and ukulele.

Sylvia could not be more excited to be part of the Voices Together team! Since beginning her internship in January 2025, Sylvia has loved working with groups of kids, teenagers and adults all across the Eastern Region. She is passionate about using music to empower individuals and believes that there is nothing more wonderful than seeing clients grow.

FUN FACT:

Sylvia loves all animals, especially cows, elephants and sharks. When she’s not watching seagulls at the beach or visiting zoos and aquariums, she’s usually at home hanging out with her tuxedo cat, Almond!
